Administration Department The Administration Department is responsible for the overall operations of the Home Builders Association of Maryland and supervision of the association’s personnel.
Communications and Public Relations Department The Communications Department administers the public relations and publications of HBAM. It publicizes the building industry and promotes HBAM to the public and the press as the industry advocate and spokesperson. It also maintains ongoing communication with the membership, keeping them abreast of industry issues, news and current association events. In addition, this department is responsible for the association website, www.homebuilders.org, the production of Mid-Atlantic Builder magazine, the annual Buyers' Guide, Builder Mart magazine and various ancillary publications.
Councils and CMBR The Councils and CMBR department works with and for the HBAM Remodelers and Sales and Marketing Council. The department also works with the Certified Master Builder/ Remodeler Program in encouraging builders and remodelers to become certified to enhance their learning and credibility. A brand new Green Building Initiative is being introduced under this department's leadership.
Events and Tradeshow Department The Events and Tradeshow Department works with member committees in the planning and implementation of association-wide programs and events including Builder Mart, Celebrity Chef Night and Auction, Golf Outing, Key Connections, ICON Awards, and the Maryland Awards of Excellence programs and the International Builders' Show Events. Other chapter events, HBAM events and sponsorship also fall in this department's responsibility.
Government Affairs Department This department is responsible for monitoring state and local legislative, governmental and regulatory activities which impact the housing industry, and coordinating HBAM’s actions and responses. Government Affairs represents HBAM members before state and local government officials, the business community and the public. Members of this department manage the Land Development Council, monitor local legislation, attend public hearings and keep chapter and council members informed of relevant local issues.
Membership Department The Membership Department is responsible for membership development and coordinates the recruitment, orientation and retention of HBAM members. It concentrates on serving the needs of members and developing special member-only benefits. It works to identify and plug members into the appropriate programs and events to ensure the full extent of networking opportunities. The department coordinates HBAM's Money Savings Opportunity benefits and Spike Reward Trips.
