Award Categories
There are five different types of awards given in the Award of Excellence program:
  • Project Awards of Excellence
  • Developer of the Year
  • Consultant of the Year
  • Contractor of the Year
  • Lifetime Achievement Award
  • Land Development Council Awards of Excellence
    The Land Development Council Award of Excellence program offers recognition to development professionals who provide superior and creative development projects that are sensitive to the community and make appropriate use of the existing natural elements. The LDC awards program serves three purposes: (1) To promote positive public interest in (perception of) the land development industry, (2) To recognize excellence in land development for design and quality; and, (3) To recognize outstanding contributions by companies and individuals to the land development industry. Projects are available to all HBAM member firms in the State of Maryland, and Adams and York Counties, Pennsylvania.
    Purpose of the Program
    The Land Development Council of the Home Builders Association of Maryland is pleased to announce the Thirteenth Annual Award of Excellence program. This program serves three purposes:
  • 1. To promote a positive public interest in (perception of) the land development industry,
  • 2. To recognize excellence in land development for design and quality; and,
  • 3. To recognize outstanding contributions by companies and individuals to the land development industry

  • February 2009 LDC Updates
    LDC Awards Program Planning Begins
    The LDC has begun preliminary work toward their 2009 Awards of Excellence Program. The committee will once again be headed up by Carmen Gilmore (Grayson Homes). Last year’s program was very successful with 12 entries of varying size and type. The awards dinner will be held in late September. For information regarding the 2009 LDC Awards program please contact either Susan Stroud or Stephanie Draminski at HBAM.

    LDC Informational Breakfast Programs to Begin
    The May meeting of the LDC will offer a very informative presentation on “Miss Utility” coordinated by Jim Barron (Ronkin Construction). The May 7th meeting will be open to any LDC member, but does require a prior reservation due to seating constraints.
